For the past 7 years, Jack and Sherry Harris have committed themselves to putting water wells in remote villages across India so the women do not have to walk for miles for this very essential need. They’ve drilled and dedicated 66 wells across the region of Tamil Nadu, India.
In the remote villages of India, women are responsible to find and provide water for their family. Not only do they not have running water in their home, they don’t even have it in their village. As women, their lives are very busy with all the details that it takes to run a home; the laundry, preparing meals, cleaning the house, taking care of children, etc. Millions of women walk a mile or two every day, sometimes twice a day, to bring water back to their house.
Having access to fresh, clean water is a complete game changer for these women and their families! Is amazing how something as simple as water can change a life.
